WHO chief: UN worker injured in Israeli strike evacuated from Yemen

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated on Friday that the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) crew member, who was injured in an Israeli attack on Yemen’s airport on Thursday, was evacuated from Yemen.

The WHO chief shared in a post on X that the wounded UN worker is currently in Jordan where he will receive medical treatment.

“Deepest gratitude to the UNHAS team for their service and swift evacuation from #Yemen, where we were on a UN mission to negotiate for the release of detained colleagues. Attacks on civilians and humanitarians must stop, everywhere,” he pointed out.
