Algeria’s A’ (local-based) head coach Abdelmadjid Bougherra said that Espérance de Tunis defender Mohamed Amine Tougaï had initially been expected to be sidelined for two months due to injury.
He explained: “The player worked well, whether with his club or when he joined the Greens’ training camp. Thank God, the good news is that he no longer feels any pain.”
He added: “He is starting to regain his usual level, and we are happy to have him back.”
He concluded: “As for his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations and a potential call-up to the senior team, in my view Tougaï is a player you can rely on heavily, and he can definitely be with the senior national team.”
