Winter Weather Hits Tunisia, Libya, and Algeria This Week

The Arab Climate Center reported that a widespread cold air mass is set to advance into the central Mediterranean region starting Wednesday, December 4. This will lead to the formation of a complex weather system, incorporating a low-pressure system with atmospheric instability.

The center noted that this system will affect Tunisia, Libya, and parts of Algeria, bringing thunderstorms and rainfall to northern and some central areas of Tunisia, accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures.

By Friday, December 6, the cold air mass is expected to intensify, pushing deeper southward, especially into Libyan territory. This is likely to result in very heavy thunderstorms and rainfall, which could trigger flash floods and flooding in some areas.
