Economic monitoring teams in the governorate of Zaghouan carried out 1,351 inspection visits in November as part of their routine oversight operations, conducted through both joint and individual campaigns.
These inspections targeted weekly markets, retail areas, and various commercial establishments in the region, leading to the identification of 187 economic violations.
According to Salwa Hamdi, head of the Quality Department at the Regional Directorate of Trade and Export Development, who spoke to TAP News Agency, most of the violations were registered in the fruit and vegetable sector (90 violations), followed by food products (18 violations) and poultry (8 violations).
The infractions mainly involved the failure to display prices, unlawful price increases, billing irregularities, and breaches related to metrology.
She added that during the same period, control authorities seized boxes of packaged cream due to deceptive commercial practices and the issuing of invoices that did not reflect actual transactions. She noted that since the beginning of the year, a total of 36 seizure reports have been issued, including 22 effective and 14 provisional ones.
