Add TN as a preferred source on GoogleUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has made it clear that Kyiv will not give up any of its occupied territories and that the country’s territorial integrity is already enshrined in the Ukrainian Constitution. Speaking in an address to the nation, he stressed that “no leader will and can deviate from this principle.”
His remarks come as Donald Trump announced preparations for a meeting with Vladimir Putin in Alaska — far from the battlefields where the war continues to rage in Ukraine. Zelensky cautioned that any peace talks that exclude Ukraine are doomed to fail, calling them “stillborn decisions” that cannot lead to real peace.
“Ukraine is ready for real decisions that can bring peace. Any decisions that are against us, any decisions that are without Ukraine, are at the same time decisions against peace,” Zelensky said in a post on X.
The Ukrainian leader underscored that the war can only end if Russia stops its aggression and respects Ukraine’s sovereignty. He vowed that Ukrainians “will not give their land to the occupier” and will continue defending their independence.
Looking ahead, Zelensky expressed readiness to work with all partners, including President Trump, to achieve a genuine and lasting peace — one that Moscow’s political will cannot easily undermine.
