In an interview with private radio, Echaab Secretary General Zouhair Maghzaoui declared accountability has always been a popular demand to lift the veil on the crimes perpetrated over the past 10 years. The leader of Echaâb remembered that the President of the Republic Kais Saïed spoke of a plot against state security regarding the latest detentions, adding that the party is still awaiting clarifications from the authorities concerned.
Maghzaoui confessed that some individuals are forming alliances underlining the necessity to uphold fair trial and human rights standards. Remarking on the conditions of imprisonment of certain detainees, the politician assured that certain lawyers are “politicized”.
