150 people injured in tornado in Czechia

Several villages in the Czech Republic have been hit by a tornado, resulting in numerous injuries and possible fatalities. A rescue operation spokesperson estimated the number of casualties is currently around 150.

The tornado struck the southeast of the country, near the borders of Slovakia and Austria. Czech Interior Minister Jan Hamacek visited the affected regions, commenting the situation is “very dangerous” and that a state of emergency was declared in the South Moravian Region.
