The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has obtained a non-standard computer which will support the new “Elm” (science) platform, an interactive library conducted by artificial intelligence (AI). The tool is devoted to students in Tunisia and abroad, academics and researchers; but the best part of this story is that the new platform is designed and funded by 100% Tunisian skills…
Also, it has the advantage of being multilingual and multiplatform and accessible on PC, Android and iOS smartphones. “Elm” presents a wide range of content tailored to the needs of Tunisians. Documents, books and different media are regularly updated thanks to the prowess of AI. The platform is technically qualified to host more than a million books and records, and a million visitors at the same time.
For its launch, the new library will make available digitized books presented by the ministry, royalty-free books, research carried out by academics, doctoral theses, etc. Talks are underway to offer free access to many books on the platform.
Finally, please remark that the final version of “Elm” will be operational by next June but you will have to wait until the next school year and only public universities will offer this service.
