5.2-magnitude earthquake shakes southern Japan

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded on Friday by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) off the east coast of the Osumi Peninsula in Japan.

The earthquake struck at 10:25 am local time at a depth of 40 kilometers, with emergency warnings issued in the prefectures of Miyazaki and Kagoshima located on the island of Kyushu.

No damage has been reported.
