An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck off the coast of Nicaragua on Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The quake was registered 61 kilometers south of the coastal town of Masachapa at a depth of 35 kilometers. Minutes earlier, the region was hit by a 5.7-magnitude earthquake.
There were no reports of potential damage or casualties but the tremor was reportedly felt in both Nicaragua and nearby Costa Rica.
