6.4-magnitude earthquake strikes northern California

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck northern California, the data published by the United States Geological Survey showed on Tuesday. The quake was located at a depth of 16.1 kilometres, about 12 kilometres from the Californian city of Ferndale.

No tsunami warning was issued following the tremor. However, more than 61,000 homes across California were left without power due to the earthquake.
