6.4-magnitude quake strikes near Easter Island

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 struck the Easter Island region on Tuesday, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake’s epicenter was registered around 700 kilometers northwest of Easter Island at a depth of 10 kilometers. Meanwhile, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) measured the magnitude at 6.6.
