Tunisia-Violence in Schools: Who’s to Blame? [Video]

The president of the Tunisian association of parents and students Ridha Zahrouni spoke today to Tunisie Numérique on the topic of violence in schools. Zahrouni likewise returned to the case of teacher Sahbi Ben Slama, who was savagely assaulted by his student.

Warning of the phenomenon of violence in the atmosphere which has taken hold in educational establishments, the speaker explained that acts of violence continue to grow. He blamed the fight against violence on the state, parents and teachers.

 

“All parts of society are accountable for making this problem worse,” he said, calling for a collaborative strategy and a common vision. To fight violence in schools, there need to be a relation of trust and mutual respect between teachers and parents, according to the same source.
