Abdel Latif Mekki Injured with a Caustic Substance… The Public Prosecution Orders the Search for Two Brothers

The Public Prosecution at the First Instance Court in Tunis 2 has authorized the officers of the National Security Zone in Sidi Bouzid to search for two brothers from the Al-Wardiya area based on a complaint lodged against them by the former Minister of Health, Abdel Latif Mekki.

According to a statement issued by the Labor and Achievement Party, Mekki went to the Sidi Bouzid Police Station on Tuesday evening, accusing two brothers from his neighbourhood of attacking him with a caustic liquid. He was provided with a medical referral for required treatment. Meanwhile, security officers went to the brothers’ house, but they were not found. After consulting the Public Prosecution, they ordered their inclusion in the search.

According to the same source, the disputes between Mekki and his neighbours go back more than two years, and several legal reports were created, which were later referred to the judiciary for resolution
