Abu Dhabi discovers 24 billion barrels worth of oil

Abu Dhabi has found around 24 billion barrels of onshore oil, UAE’s state media agency WAM reports.

The discovery is a huge assistance to the UAE’s reserves, which stood at 97.8 billion barrels in 2019 according to OPEC’s Annual Statistical Bulletin.

The Supreme Petroleum Council (SPC) declared the discovery of approximately 22 billion barrels worth of non-conventional, recoverable oil resources on Sunday. Almost 2 billion barrels’ worth of conventional oil reserves were likewise discovered.
