AFCON 2024: Moroccan referee suspended for life!

Following inappropriate behaviour during the last AFCON 2024, especially for his refusal to whistle at the small final of the last AFCON between South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), TN Sport has learned that it has decided to suspend Moroccan referee Redouane Jiyed for life and ban him permanently from African matches.

A fishtail ending to his career for the Moroccan Man in Black, just one year before his international retirement.

Note that he officiated 209 games, in all competitions, including 9 in CAN, showing 777 yellow cards in addition to 68 red cards, while whistling 78 penalties.
