Al-Obeidi: “Lebanon’s war Stems from Narrowing Gap in Technology and Weapons Between Israel and Resistance” [Video]

In a statement to Tunisie Numérique, former diplomat Abdullah Al-Obeidi examined the recent developments in Lebanon, following a series of airstrikes launched by the Israeli occupation towards Beirut. He also referenced Israel’s declaration of its readiness to invade the Berri region, underscoring that the current conflict goes beyond a simple Lebanon-Israel confrontation.

He stated that Arab countries are lined up in axes, as Syria, for example, is near Lebanon and Hezbollah, while other countries support Israel and are waiting for the end of the tasks of this entity until new alliances are constructed with it, in addition to the controversy about Shiites and Sunnis, which is employed by other forces to disperse Arab countries more than they are separate.

The speaker highlighted that Israel in this war is no longer safe in this war, as it can impose security by using the military and weapons, but in return, it will be disrupted and will not work as a state, in addition the Israeli army is no longer sufficient to meet its needs, which has led Israel to seek ways to recruit displaced Africans in unconventional ways to fight in its ranks.

Al-Obeidi further underlined that throughout the history of wars, no country has ever secured victory through air or naval power alone. He stressed that the current conflict reflects the narrowing technological gap between the Arab world and Israel. While resistance forces once depended on basic means like stones, today they are equipped with advanced technologies, including trucks and large-sized missiles as seen in Hezbollah’s arsenal.

Our speaker noted that the results of the war would not determine the fate of the region and Israel can’t occupy Lebanon, particularly since the balance of power is hostage to the occurrence of a coup in Egypt or Jordan.
