Algeria-Five civilians killed ,3 injured in home-made bomb blast

A homemade bomb blast killed five civilians and injured three others in eastern Algeria on Thursday, the defence ministry announced.

The roadside bomb went off as a car drove by in the region of Tebessa, the ministry added.

 It added that an extremist was eliminated by security forces in the neighbouring region of Khenchela, but it was not directly apparent if the two incidents were linked.
