Algeria: Presidential pardon for more than 2,400 prisoners

Algerian President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided on Wednesday on presidential pardons and appeasement measures for 2,471 prisoners, as the official news agency reported.

The presidential pardon concerns the following measures;

– A total pardon of the sentence for non-incarcerated individuals who have been definitively convicted to a sentence of less than or equal to 24 months

– A total pardon of the sentence for detained persons sentenced to a sentence of less than or equal to 18 months

– A partial pardon of the sentence of 18 months for detained persons definitively sentenced whose sentence exceeds 18 months but does not exceed 30 years
