Algeria: Reduction of cereal imports by 25%

The Algerian government disclosed on Sunday that it plans to lower its cereal imports by 25% in 2021/2022.
 
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohamed Abdelhafid Henni told the media that “During earlier years, the largest quantity collected was 27 million quintals, all varieties combined”.
 
“For this campaign, we hope to reach at least this objective and we are counting on a volume between 27 and 30 million, with an impact on imports of 25 to 26%”, he  added.
