Algeria: Tebboune orders the adoption of English in primary schools

The President of the Algerian Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Sunday chaired a meeting of the Council of Ministers during which he ordered the adoption of the English language from the primary schools, “after an in-depth examination carried out by experts and specialists”.

Concerning the revision of educational programs and the school textbook, Tebboune repeated “the determination to examine the text of the law overseeing the teaching profession, in the application of its commitments in terms of reforming the education system”, reports APS.

President Tebboune stressed“the need to modify educational programs with reference to the pedagogical spirit, which has allowed the formation, since independence, of an elite in various specialities, and to ban the revision of educational programs during the school year”.
