Algeria: Tebboune orders the freezing and removal of several taxes and fees

The Presidency of the Algerian Republic declared today, Sunday, February 13, 2022, the annulment of taxes, fees and other freezes, set out in the the2022  finance law because they have caused an upsurge in food prices and electronic products. A statement from the Cabinet of the Algerian Presidency revealed that the President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune ordered: “the freezing of all taxes and royalties, as of today, until further notice, in particular, the royalties in the finance law 2022 on certain foodstuffs”. “

The Algerian President again ordered that all measures be taken to avoid the repercussions of the insane growth in prices on international markets on citizens during the current year, until their stability.

According to the same source, the State is accountable for covering the difference in the price of products planned for citizens by the Office Professionnel of cereals, given the high prices at the international level.
