Algiers: Launch today of electoral campaign for presidential election of September 7

In Algeria, the electoral campaign for the presidential election, planned for September 7, will officially start this Thursday and will run for 20 days.

All candidates will have equal access to authorized audiovisual media, each receiving the same broadcast duration. This allocation is part of a structured approach to guarantee fair distribution of time slots for direct expression on public audiovisual platforms.

According to the APS, the Independent National Electoral Authority (ANIE) has set guidelines and procedures for media access and coverage of the presidential candidates’ activities. The ANIE has also stressed the importance of observing electoral silence three days before the election date.

For reference, the three candidates in the running are Aouchiche Youssef, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and Hassani Cherif Abdelaâli.
