Amen Bank strengthens its commitment to clean energy with USAID Power Tunisia grant program

 On July 9, 2024, the United States government inaugurated the first USAID Power Tunisia grant program, entitled “Improving Access to Financing for Small-Scale Clean Energy Investments in Tunisia.” This program will be implemented in Tunisia by two financial partners, Amen Bank and Advans Tunisie. Over a period of 17 months, this program aims to support more than 500 companies in their clean energy projects, thus generating investments of more than 3.4 million dollars (or 10.57 million Tunisian dinars). Amen Bank plays a crucial role in providing loans for small-scale investments not exceeding $50,000 each. These loans are intended for small and medium-sized businesses to purchase and install renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. These investments are designed to reduce CO2 emissions and lower borrowers’ energy costs, with a particular focus on extending benefits to the most remote regions of Tunisia. By improving access to financing for small and medium-sized businesses engaged in clean energy projects, we promote economic growth and environmental sustainability. Mr. Neji Ghandri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Amen Bank, underlined: “As part of this grant, our partnership with USAID Power Tunisia reinforces our commitment to facilitate access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises involved in construction projects. renewable energy and energy efficiency, thus contributing to a greener economy.

This new partnership with USAID Power Tunisia will allow us to develop adapted and accessible financial services for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as our agricultural clients, to invest in renewable and efficient energy equipment. We will do everything possible to support our customers in their energy transition to increase their long-term resilience. » Towards a sustainable future This action is fully in line with Amen Bank’s Green IT strategy, aiming to integrate sustainable practices and reduce its ecological footprint.
