The Armenian Foreign Ministry announced on Friday Yerevan recognized the State of Palestine.
The department said in its statement that the Caucasian country is “sincerely interested in the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East” and a “lasting reconciliation between the Jewish and Palestinian peoples.” Voicing its support for the two-state solution for the resolution of the conflict, the ministry added that “[w]e are convinced that this is the only way to ensure that Palestinians and Israelis can realize their legitimate aspirations.”
