Austria joined several nations’ decision to withdraw its support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) following allegations that the organization may have played a role in the October 7 attacks on Israel, the Austrian Foreign Ministry stated on Monday.
“We call on UNRWA and the United Nations to conduct a comprehensive, swift and complete investigation into the allegations. The United Nations must also be above criticism in the interests of its own credibility. Possible participants in the terrorist attack on October 7 must be held accountable,” the statement reads.
