Beja: 66% increase in olive harvesting

According to estimates by regional authorities, the olives harvest in Béja will have to rise 66%this year.

Production will attain 54,000 tonnes of olives, the equivalent of 9 thousand tonnes of olive oil and 4 thousand tonnes of table olives.

The olive groves in the governorate of Béja spread over 39 thousand hectares including 1,700 hectares irrigated and 5 thousand hectares dedicated to biological crops.
