Belgium to summon Israeli envoy over bombing of office

Belgium’s Minister of Development Cooperation Caroline Gennez stated in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that she, along with Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib, will summon Israel’s ambassador over the bombing of the Belgian Agency for Development Cooperation’s office building in the Gaza Strip.

“Attacking civilian buildings is and remains totally unacceptable,” Gennez highlighted in the post.

Belgium has repeatedly requested the end of civilian killings in Gaza and has considered acknowledging Palestine as a state within a two-state system, as stated by Gennez in September of 2023.
