Heavy rain and strong winds caused a 100-foot tall billboard to collapse onto a gas station in Mumbai, resulting in the deaths of at least three people and injuring over 45 others, India’s National Disaster Response Force reported on Monday.
The incident occurred at the Cheddanagar Junction in the Ghatkopar area, where the massive sign trapped more than 100 individuals inside the petrol pump.
“The injured persons were rushed to civic-run Rajawadi Hospital,” Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani added.
