Borrell: EU to propose sanctions on extremist Israeli settlers

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced on Monday that the EU plans to propose sanctions on Israeli “extremist settlers” in response to their alleged involvement in violent actions against Palestinians in the West Bank. Additionally, Borrell expressed concern about Israel’s approval of the “illegal” establishment of 1,700 new housing units in East Jerusalem and condemned the displacement of Gaza Strip residents during the conflict.
