European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said on Tuesday that the situation in Lebanon is ” getting worse by the day,” stressing that 20% of the country’s population has been displaced amid Israeli attacks.
Borrell insisted Lebanon needs to elect a president as soon as possible and that the Lebanese political elite needs to “take control of the country,” as Hezbollah currently presents a “state within a state.”
