Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Thursday criticized Israel over its actions in the Gaza war and the killing of civilians.
“Israel’s behaviour has no explanation: with the pretext of fighting Hamas, it is killing women and children,” Lula said after a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi (right).
Furthermore, Brazil’s head of state emphasised that there would be no lasting peace between Israel and Palestinians without the establishment of a Palestinian state, adding that an urgent ceasefire is essential for humanitarian aid to enter the Gaza Strip and reach displaced civilians.
