British Airways has suspended its flights as the airline pilots will initiate a two-day strike over pay.
Flight squad who belong to the British Airline Pilots’ Association (Balpa) are prominently involved in a severe pay conflict with British Airline. They have come out on a two-day strike triggering the abolition of British Airline flights to and from Heathrow and Gatwick on Monday and Tuesday.
Balpa’s general secretary, Brian Strutton, stated: “It is time to get back to the negotiating table and put together a serious offer that will end this dispute”, said Brian Strutton Balpa’s general secretary
“BA has lost the trust and confidence of pilots because of cost-cutting and the dumbing down of the brand… management want to squeeze every last penny out of customers and staff,” Mr Strutton added.
A spokeswoman for Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked both sides to settle the dispute.
