The hashtag “مقاطعة_المنتوجات_الفرنسية” (boycotting French products) topped the list of Twitter trends in several countries, in response to images of the Prophet Muhammad, which were published by French media.
Thousands of Internet users reacted called for “boycotting French products”, by retweeting sequences which call for responding to attacks on religious symbols of Islam.
In Kuwait, the president of the council of consumer associations sent a letter, asking associations in the country to “boycott all products made in France and proclaim that they are withdrawn from the markets”.
