Canada: Horrible crime: Tunisian man stabs his wife to death

A tragic incident has deeply impacted the Arab community in Canada. In the Pointe-aux-Trembles neighbourhood of Montreal, a Tunisian man was apprehended for the murder of his Tunisian wife inside their house.

According to Canadian media reports, which quote local authorities, the police were called to the scene by the 42-year-old husband, identified as ‘M.M.’, who reported the crime himself. He was arrested immediately at the couple’s residence. The victim, 32-year-old ‘N.B.Y.’, suffered about twenty stab wounds to her abdomen. The husband has since been charged with second-degree murder.

‘Le Journal de Québec’, drawing on remarks from friends and neighbours of the deceased, reports that the couple had been living in Canada for about three years and appeared to have a good relationship.

This incident marks the second similar crime in the province in 2024. Earlier, on January 5th, a 29-year-old woman from Granby was killed by her husband, who was later charged with premeditated murder.
