Canada: Two Jewish schools in Montreal targeted by gunfire

Canadian police reported that there were shootings at two Jewish schools in the city of Montreal, in an incident that was quickly denounced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The police clarified that they discovered bullet marks on the doors of two Jewish educational establishments in Montreal on Thursday morning, specifying that the shooting happened at night and that no human casualties were registered.

Trudeau said: “I want to be very clear. We condemn this anti-Semitic violence in the strongest terms”.

Quebec Prime Minister François Legault launched a “call for calm” to all citizens of the province, denouncing this incident and a confrontation that occurred Wednesday at a university in the city between two groups of students.
