The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Friday that unvaccinated people are 11 times more likely to die from COVID-19 compared to those who have been fully inoculated.
Citing a recent study that analyzed over 600,000 COVID-19 cases from April through July this year, CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky revealed that unvaccinated Americans have 4.5 times more chance to get infected with the coronavirus and are around ten times more likely to be hospitalized versus those who have received the vaccine.
The study has “found further evidence of the power of vaccination,” Dr. Walensky noted, stressing that “vaccination works. We have the scientific tools we need to turn the corner on this pandemic,” she concluded.
