Chinese police arrested a 55-year-old man on Tuesday under the suspicion of being responsible for stabbing four American college professors from Iowa’s Cornell College who were teaching at a university in Jilin.
Jilin City police reported that the suspect initially collided with a foreign national while walking in Beishan Park. Subsequently, he assailed the person and three other accompanying foreign nationals with a knife, as well as a Chinese tourist who attempted to stop him. All five individuals are not in life-threatening condition, the police noted.
Cornell College President Jonathan Brand confirmed that the instructors were attacked while at the park with a faculty member from Beihua University.
