China-Beijing Reports First COVID-19 Case in 56 Days

China’s capital Beijing affirmed on Thursday local coronavirus contamination for the first time since mid-April, the municipal government declared.

After 56 days with no recorded cases in Beijing, a 52-year-old man was diagnosed with COVID-19 in the Xicheng district after checking into a clinic over a fever. The authorities remarked that the man had not travelled outside the city and was not in contact with anyone who came from abroad.

Nucleic acid testing will be carried for citizens residing in the patient’s community where closed-off management and temperature checks have been resumed, said the local government.
Stricter monitoring will be done in communities, fever clinics and public places in surrounding areas, CGTN reported.
