China stops issuing visas to South Korean citizens

The Chinese Embassy in Seoul stopped providing South Korean nationals with short-term visas for business trips, tourist visits, the travels for the purpose of medical treatment, transit or general private affairs, CGTN reported on Tuesday, citing a notice issued by the consulate.

China plans to modify the measures in the event that the country lifts its entrance restrictions against Chinese citizens, which was implemented after Beijing took a step back from its zero-COVID policy, the report noted.
