Collision between two planes at Japanese airport

Cathay Pacific Airways revealed on Tuesday that a Korean Air plane had “hit” one of its aircraft at a Japanese airport, while local media reported that the incident caused no deaths.

The contact happened while the Korean Air plane was preparing for take-off, the airline official said.

There was no one on the Cathay Pacific plane, which was stationary at the time of the crash, according to the Kyodo News agency.

The accident came two weeks after a potentially disastrous collision at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, when a Japan Airlines plane collided on landing with a coast guard plane.
