COVID-19 cases worldwide top 55 million

The total number of recorded COVID-19 cases globally since the start of the pandemic exceeded 55 million on Monday, Furthermore, almost 1.33 million people died this year due to the disease.

Countries across the world are seeing a second wave of the pandemic as more governments are imposing various measures to battle the surge of the virus.

Nevertheless , positive feeling eased the past week as two of the world’s leading vaccine manufacturers, Pfizer Inc. and Moderna Inc. recently revealed preliminary results that showed vaccine efficacy stood at over 90%.
