Death of businessman Mohamed El Fayed

Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Fayed has passed away aged 94 in London.

Al Fayed was born in 1929 in Alexandria and transferred to Dubai in 1960 to become one of the leading powers in the world of development and real estate.

In 1975 he moved to the UK and purchased several hotel chains, including Harrods stores.

He was known for his close ties to the British royal family and his son Dody died with Princess Diana in a car accident in 1997.
