Donald Trump to halt Immigration to the US amid pandemic

President Donald Trump has announced he will approve an executive order to momentarily halt all immigration to the US because of the coronavirus Pandemic.

On Twitter, he called “the attack from the invisible enemy”, as he calls the virus, and the need to protect the jobs of Americans, but did not provide details.

It was not apparent what programmes might be changed and whether Trump will be capable to carry out the order.

Trump’s announcement appears as the White House debates the most critical of the pandemic is over and the country can start reopening. The restrictions on people’s movement, implemented by many states to curb the spread of the virus, have paralysed parts of the economy.
