President Donald Trump has been promptly accused of explicit racism after publishing a presidential tweet in which he attacked four progressive Democratic congresswomen.
Trump declared the women “originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe”, before implying they “go back”.
While the Republican party stayed silent, waves of criticism spread. British prime minister Theresa May denounced the tweet by declaring they were “completely unacceptable”. On her part, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Trump wants to “make America white again.”
The concerned congresswomen include Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, and Ilhan Omar.
