Egypt’s first post-Mubarak ruler, Tantawi, dies aged 85

Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, the former head of the military council that ruled Egypt momentarily after its 2011 popular uprising, has died at the age of 85, Egypt’s presidency said on Tuesday, announcing three days of national mourning.
