ENI-Tunisia: Tunisia is losing its Italian partners because of arbitrary designations

ENI, the energy giant is making new prominent investments in Algeria and Egypt. These are investments estimated at millions of euros with a great chance for new jobs.
In Tunisia, on the other hand, our officials are setting many barriers for relationships with this multinational, and causing it large problems, despite the rumours circulating about the Italians’ desire to leave our country! One can observe that they are right to think about it, since we have discovered that a CEO of a mixed company (67% ENI, 33% Etap) has not stopped, since his employment, to create problems with the historical and strategic partner, for non-constructive reasons.
We recently learned that he resolved to declare war by declining to apply the management system and the procedures in force approved by the board of directors since 2012. A system based on good management rules and best practices in the sector that is in line with international norms.
The Italians, who have been lamenting about this manager for a long time, decided this week to defer a board meeting programmed for July 15 to a later date until they receive clarification from Etap, which is their partner in this company by communicating an official letter which tells their position and the existing problems. How long will our officials proceed to interfere and cause more and more problems for our suffering country? Where are the people in charge of Etap and the Ministry of Energy? Do they favour to drop and lose a strategic partnership in the bright eyes of an incompetent manager?
