Speaking to Tunisiee Numerique, financial and economic analyst Bassam Ennaifer said that the legislative initiative represented by a general amnesty in cases of bad checks seeks to put an ending to useless jail sentences, as Article 411 of the law regulating checks, which stipulates that putting violators deposit in prison makes it impossible for them to operate and search for solutions to clear checks.
He added that this new initiative aims to safeguard the rights of creditors while also finding a solution for the economic transactor and sparing him a prison punishment through his commitment to getting rid of it in legally, remarking that these measures would contribute to finding solutions to the economic transactor’s risk of incarceration, and would also contribute to inspiring the use of the check.
