Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described on Friday the formation of the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and the borders envisioned after the Six-Day War in 1967 as “essential.”
Speaking at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Erdogan slammed Israel’s campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip as “treacherous, dishonorable targeting, barbarity that lacks any sense of honor,” “genocide,” and a failure of the public’s trust in justice and global order. He also dismissed the West’s approach to the crisis in the Middle East, calling those countries “hypocritical.”
Furthermore, Erdogan said that what is going on in Gaza, Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Ukraine is proof that “the current global system has failed.”
