Erdogan says US riots ‘shocked’ world

Yesterday’s riots on the United States Capitol “a disgrace for democracy,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (pictured) asserted .

“This situation in the US – the so-called cradle of democracy – has shocked humankind. It is an unprecedented incident in American history, a disgrace for democracy,” he affirmed.

In addition, Erdogan communicated hope that the transfer of power between Donald Trump and Joe Biden will be conducted “calmly” as the US president pledged.
